Slough Mencap was founded in 1952 by parents of children with learning disabilities.
Our aim is to enrich the lives of people with a learning disability and their families.
Just five families set up Slough Mencap, as they wanted their children to be recognised as people in their own right. The children were not even entitled to go to school, Slough Mencap was involved in getting that changed.
Mencap’s vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Here at Slough Mencap, we strive to achieve those goals through the services we run.
As a local voluntary group, we provide services such as group events, evening clubs and space for a get-together.
Slough Mencap gives it’s members the confidence and practical help they need to live their lives to the full.
